Abstract

Heredity is the inheritance of traits from one generation to the next. This topic discuss about monohybrid cross, dihybrid cross and modification of Mendel ratio. In classroom learning process of Grade XII at MAN 2 Padang, there is no media that is capable to visualize the process of how crosses occur and why there can be modifications to the Mendel law, because the available media has not well described the contents of heredity materials. This research aims to determine instructional requirements in the development of learning media of hereditary materials. The research is a development research using Four-D (4-D) model consisting of 4 stages: define phase, design phase, develop phase and disseminate phase. This study was conducted on the define phase stage. From the result of curriculum analysis, to reach the standard of competence and basic competence which students must have in this heredity material, 15 indicators of competency achievement for 27 learning objectives presented in 13 learning materials are developed. The result of the curriculum analysis is used as a consideration in designing learning media of hereditary materials. Keywords: curriculum analysis, heredity, media development
