Abstract

ABSTRAK Sri Melia Arly (NPM 10080055) Writing Expository Text Ability used Problem Based Learning Model Of Student’s X Class at Senior High School No. 1 Panti, Pasaman Regency. Thesis. Study Program Indonesian Language and Literature Education, STKIP PGRI Sumatera Barat, Padang, 2018. This research is grounded by a lack of student understanding of the concept of exposition texts, as it is a new learning in the 2013 curriculum. There are still many students who do not understand the structure of the exposition text correctly. In addition, the students' knowledge in putting their ideas and ideas into the form of exposition texts is also limited. Issues discussed was how writing expository text ability used problem based learning model of student’s X class at Senior High School No. 1 Panti, Pasaman Regency in n describing the exposition structure of the title, thesis, argument, and conclusion. The study was quantitative, using descriptive method. Sampling method was purposive sampling. Number of sample was 35 student. The instrument which used in this research was performance test. Data analysis used averaged. Based on result of analyze data known ability of student’s X Class at Senior High School No. 1 Panti, Pasamnan Regency on writing expository text, who teached with problem based learning model totality has good qualified with average as 80. Result of tes shown; first, ability of student’s X Class at Senior High School No. 1 Panti, Pasamnan Regency on writing expository text, who teached with problem based learning model on title indicator has perfect qualified with average as 97,14. Second, ability of student’s X Class at Senior High School No. 1 Panti, Pasamnan Regency on writing expository text, who teached with problem based learning model on thesis indicator has very good qualified with average as 91,43. Third, ability of student’s X Class at Senior High School No. 1 Panti, Pasamnan Regency on writing expository text, who teached with problem based learning model on argument indicator has sufficient qualified with average as 68,57. Fourth, , ability of student’s X Class at Senior High School No. 1 Panti, Pasamnan Regency on writing expository text, who teached with problem based learning model on conclusion indicator has sufficient qualified with average as 62,86. Based on the results of the study is expected teachers of Indonesian Language SMA Negeri 1 Panti Pasaman using model problem based learning as one of the learning model. This is because the use of problem based learning model proved to improve students' ability to write exposition text. Students are also expected to be more active in writing about exposition texts in order to have the ability to provide an information about the problems, ideas, and thoughts about the events that occur in the environment.
